V2 Cigs Customer Support - Put To The Test... And Here's How V2 Cigs' Support Rep 'Pixie' Did At Answering The Many Questions I Put To Her

As I mentioned in my V2 Cigs Review, while preparing to write the review I decided it made great sense to test out V2 Cigs customer support by putting them on the hot seat! So pretending to be a curious customer new to electronic cigarettes and interested in buying my first e cigarette from V2 Cigs I logged on to the live chat support link on the V2 Cigs website and was quickly connected to Pixie.

I was thoroughly impressed from the rapid connection to a live person, and progressively so as she handled my questions extremely competently as you can see for yourself in the transcript of our discussion - which covered most every subject I could think of that a new e cigarette user might ask about V2 Cigs before making a purchase after having browsed the V2 Cigs website a little. The chat had to have gone on for over an hour, and as you can see V2 Cigs support is not only top notch but patient polite and accurate. The experience only served to increase my positive respect for V2 Cigs and what a great e cigarette supplier they are to deal with.

Only after the fact did I find out that V2 Cigs have in fact extended their customer service hours until late on weekdays and now Saturdays as well! whether online or by phone, V2 Cigs stands ready to help answer any question or concern you may have before or after you make a purchase.

What follows is the exact chat transcript from my session posing as a smoker interested in V2 Cigs, with A LOT of questions!

Pixie says:
Hello James Oliver. My name is Pixie how can I help you?

James Oliver says:
Hi there, I have been browsing the V2 cigs website and had a few questions I am not sure about I was hoping maybe you could help explain for me?

Pixie says:
i can definitely assist you :)

James Oliver says:
  Great, thanks Pixie

Pixie says:
  no problem

James Oliver says:
First off I wanted to ask about the V2 Cigs batteries - can you give me a quick overview of the different sizes and let me know about this whole choice between auto and manual?

James Oliver says:
What is the difference between the two?

Pixie says:
well the difference between the manual and the automatic is just a push button. the manuals have this, you would actually have to press this button everytime you inhale. what this does is you are manually activating the cartridge on the inside and it will give you more vapor and a stronger throat hit.

Pixie says:
the automatics you would just inhale like you normally would

Pixie says:
initially you need to puff on it a few times

Pixie says:
  just to activate it

Pixie says:
  we have 3 sizes

Pixie says:
  shorty, standard and long

Pixie says:
shorty is the size of a regular cigarette

Pixie says:
standard is like a 100 cigarette

Pixie says:
  long is 140mm long

Pixie says:
  but the longer the length

Pixie says:
  the longer the battery life

James Oliver says:
OK, I think I understand... I am new to using electronic cigarettes. Do you think automatic would be more like regular smoking? I want the easiest transition

Pixie says:
it depends on the person. i would suggest trying one of each. you might end up liking the manual -- but the automatic seems to be the favorite from what i have noticed

James Oliver says:
OK, well that brings me to what I was going to ask next

James Oliver says:
Which is whether I can mix battery choices in the different starter kits -

James Oliver says:
Can I choose from any size and auto or manual? and mix them

Pixie says:
  yes you can

Pixie says:
all of our kits are completely customizable

Pixie says:
down to the last 5 pack of cartridges

James Oliver says:
So if I choose to get the standard kit - I noticed it says 2 batteries 1 manual and one automatic

James Oliver says:
that is probably what I would get

James Oliver says:
but if I wanted could I get both auto or both manual? And at 2 different sizes?

Pixie says:
  yes that's correct

Pixie says:
you would specify that in the comments section of your order

James Oliver says:
OK so just enter in the comment section - that is great to know...

Pixie says:
you can get 1 white shorty automatic and 1 stainless steel long manual for example

James Oliver says:
I wanted to ask about flavors - I notice you have a new one

James Oliver says:
I usually smoke Marlboro Light and My Wife (who is curious about this too) smokes Camels

James Oliver says:
Out of your tobacco flavors what would be the best choices do you think and nicotine strength for us to order. She smokes Camel regular / full flavor

Pixie says:
i would suggest for a camel smoker to try our Sahara which is very similar to camel

Pixie says:
then we have Red which is similar to Marlboro

Pixie says:
and if you smoke lights, i would suggest getting half of your kit in 6mg and the other half in 12mg

Pixie says:
because lights fall somewhere in between there

James Oliver says:
OK, I was curious about the whole nicotine strength rating thing a little - I think I get it from reading online but can you explain a bit better what it means?

James Oliver says:
What is the number referring to exactly

Pixie says:
well we have 0, which has no nicotine

Pixie says:
6mg is what we call light

James Oliver says:
I definitely want some nicotine in there!

Pixie says:
and is equivalent to an ultra light/light cigarette

Pixie says:
12mg is medium and is equivalent to light/mild cigarettes

Pixie says:
18mg is full strength and it would be like an unfiltered cigarette or a Marlboro red. very strong.

Pixie says:
yeah we need our nicotine! lol

James Oliver says:
Yeah! for now at least, but I see how 0mg would make sense for someone still wanting to puff away on something

James Oliver says:
so how long does each cartridge last generally?

Pixie says:
depends on usage and which battery you use (manuals drain cartridges a little faster)

Pixie says:
a cartridge is equal to a pack of cigarettes

Pixie says:
so it should last you about as long as a pack would last you

Pixie says:
like i said depending on usage

Pixie says:
  many people who start vaping

Pixie says:
will actually start doing it more often than they would normally smoke

Pixie says:
just because the way the nicotine gets in your body is not immediate like with a cigarette and because often they end up getting the wrong strength.

James Oliver says:
I read somewhere that a cigarette is equal to something like 7 to 13 puffs or thereabouts

Pixie says:
with vaping it can take a few hours for your to feel the nicotine, your body needs time to adjust - specially if you are vaping AND smoking

Pixie says:
like i said that really depends. personally i take really long drags so it depends on how you smoke

James Oliver says:
That's an interesting point, I am hoping to make the full switch to vaping... I've heard many people including a friend I know who managed to - but at first it might be hard

Pixie says:
yeah, that is why it's good to go for the tobacco flavors initially because it will be a smoother trasition

James Oliver says:
Is there anything different in how I should 'puff' on the V2 Cig to get the best experience from it or is it just like a cigarette really

Pixie says:
its similar to smoking. honestly when i quit smoking cigarettes i found myself vaping a lot more and very often -- because i could do it anywhere! so what i did is i went down from 12mg to 6mg and that way i wasnt putting anymore nicotine in my body than i was used to

Pixie says:
now i am down to zeros and the occasional 6mg when i get cranky lol

James Oliver says:
  haha

Pixie says:
i have an oral fixation, the nicotine is not what it's all about for me

James Oliver says:
well that's what it is for a lot of smokers I think

James Oliver says:
I think personally there is just as much of a psychological addiction to actually smoking as just the nicotine...

Pixie says:
yeah, thats true. thats why i think this product is so effective

Pixie says:
  i completely agree

James Oliver says:
that's what I am hoping and it makes sense from what I've read about 'vaping'

James Oliver says:
I do have a few more questions if its ok

Pixie says:
  sure, no problem

James Oliver says:
I wanted to ask about the flavors other than the tobacco ones - I definitely want to try tobacco at first (like you said I think it will make the transition easier) but I am super interested in the idea that with electronic smoking I can try other flavors

James Oliver says:
I see you have a number of other options, I definitely want to try coffee and chocolate ;)

Pixie says:
we have a flavor sampler :)

James Oliver says:
but some other sellers have more other choices and I am wondering if V2Cigs will be adding the list of flavors you sell

James Oliver says:
Oh so I could order a sampler pack of my 5 carts choice in a starter kit?

Pixie says:
what the company is trying to do is release a new flavor every couple of months

Pixie says:
our most recent one was sahara which was released on 3/20

James Oliver says:
I'll definitely try that one for my wife (and try it myself too)

Pixie says:
you can't replace the cartridges on your order with a sampler unless you'd be willing to lose 1 cartridge - cause it brings 9 so we can send you the sampler instead of the two 5 packs

Pixie says:
hopefully we get another flavor soon

Pixie says:
i am excited for the Cola flavor

James Oliver says:
I see but as an add on or if I was getting say the couples kit I could ask for it?

James Oliver says:
  yeah cola would be great!

Pixie says:
you can ask for it, but like i said, it would replace 2 of your 5 packs of cartridges with the sampler. so you'd get the sampler and then 2 five packs instead of 4 five packs which is what the kit originally brings.

Pixie says:
  makes sense? lol

James Oliver says:
That would be fine - it would be a great way to try them all!

Pixie says:
  we also have blank cartridges

James Oliver says:
and then get the other 2 five packs of tobacco flavor I think

Pixie says:
and are hoping to have ejuice in the future

Pixie says:
that way we will have many more flavors

James Oliver says:
Yes I noticed the blank ones

James Oliver says:
So you can fill them yourself?

Pixie says:
that's correct. you can get the ejuice elsewhere from now since we don't have that just yet and you pop off the top and drop 15-20 drops of liquid in there

Pixie says:
1 drop of the liquid is like a cigarette

James Oliver says:
OK, that's cool. Can I refill other ones when they are used up at all?

James Oliver says:
Or do they get worn out?

Pixie says:
yes you can. you can refill them upto 5 times i believe. not sure if you've browsed our forum but they have a thread on there about "refilling" and it's even got a video

James Oliver says:
OK I'll have to check out the forum, but that is useful to know

James Oliver says:
The other thing I noticed on your site is about the 'USB Passthroughs - you sell 2 kinds i think

Pixie says:
they are the same except for color & cord length

Pixie says:
  &price i think

James Oliver says:
I was gong to ask the difference between the V2 Power Cig vs V2 Notebook Cig

Pixie says:
the power cig is white with a shorter cord. &the notebook cig is black with a longer cord

James Oliver says:
but partly I just wanted to understand how they work too

James Oliver says:
you can just plug them in on a USB port?

Pixie says:
sorry i said that backwards up there the powercig has the longer cord

Pixie says:
it has a curly cord that extends

James Oliver says:
OK I was wondering cause it is more expensive I think

Pixie says:
yeah they are powered by USB

Pixie says:
you can plug it into your computer or car adapter or the wall adapter that comes with your kit

Pixie says:
but they are always attached by that cord

James Oliver says:
I work from home and am on the computer a lot so it sounds like a good option

Pixie says:
  it is much more powerful

Pixie says:
and manual by default so you have to press the button

James Oliver says:
yeah it said they are more powerful with 5 v I think, how does that effect the vaping experience

Pixie says:
its more powerful than even the manual batteries so the downside is you'll finish your cartridge much faster

Pixie says:
it depends on where it's plugged into also, some ports on laptops don't have enough power for them and some ports have too much power so you have to find a happy medium

Pixie says:
i heard it works best on desktops vs laptops

James Oliver says:
I have both a desktop and laptop, so I can try them both - you said it can work plugged into the wall too?

Pixie says:
yeah with our AC adapter. thats what you would plug into the wall outlet - it's part of your charger kit.

Pixie says:
the charger kit is the AC adapter and a USB cord that you plug into it and then screw the battery at the other end.

James Oliver says:
that seems pretty convenient - I hadn't realized that, so I could plug it in my tv room then not just the office and not worry about recharging?

James Oliver says:
I have a plug near the couch

Pixie says:
correct. the charger is a smart charger and will not overcharge your batteries.

James Oliver says:
OK, that sounds like it is definitely something I'd be interested in...

James Oliver says:
I think I am almost done

James Oliver says:
thanks for all your help, you've been great!

Pixie says:
  no problem :)

James Oliver says:
I just wanted to ask about average battery charge times for the different lengths...

James Oliver says:
  how long they normally last

James Oliver says:
and also how long they take to charge?

Pixie says:
shorty: ~160 puffs or 1/3 of a cartridge and will take about 2 hours to charge

Pixie says:
standard: ~200 puffs or 1/2 of a cartridge and will take about 3 hours to charge

Pixie says:
long: ~300 puffs or 3/4 of a cartridge and will take about 4 hours to charge

James Oliver says:
ok, so I see the benefit of maybe getting the chargin case then - depending on how many batteries I get (which starter kit I go with)

James Oliver says:
how does that PCC work - I understand it charges but how do I have to charge it too I guess?

Pixie says:
you have to first charge the case and then use the case to charge the batteries.

Pixie says:
please note only shorty and standard fit in the case

Pixie says:
you can plug in the long one but you wont be able to close it

James Oliver says:
I see, is it pretty portable? would it fit in my pocket?

James Oliver says:
And how many times would it be able to charge say a shorty battery?

Pixie says:
that's a good question. i'm stumped. LOL let me ask someone, i don't actually use the case myself

James Oliver says:
I'm not sure If I would use it but my wife would

Pixie says:
you can get like 5 or 6 charges on a standard battery. maybe a little more on the shorty.

James Oliver says:
  thanks

James Oliver says:
OK, that's awesome, does it take along time to charge itself?

James Oliver says:
I mean the charger? do i have to charge it overnight?

Pixie says:
that depends on the power source. i would just leave it charging overnight

James Oliver says:
it is a USB plug to charge it?

Pixie says:
like charging it directly from the AC adapter will take less time than if you were charging it on the computer

Pixie says:
  yes everything is USB

James Oliver says:
  That makes sense

James Oliver says:
  sense...

James Oliver says:
OK, well you have been really helpful and patient with me here Pixie!

James Oliver says:
But you've definitely helped clear some things up for me, I appreciate it!

Pixie says:
  :) my pleasure

Pixie says:
we are here to answer any questions you have we are open every day except sunday from 10AM to 11PM EST

James Oliver says:
If I have any questions once my order arrives... oh actually that is the last thing I almost forgot

James Oliver says:
I live in Arizona... if I order a couples starter kit as I am thinking about

James Oliver says:
roughly how long would shipping take normally?

Pixie says:
we have differen't shipping options. anywhere from FedEx overnight to regular USPS so it depends mainly on that -- & our fulfilment period is 24 - 48 hours

Pixie says:
mostly the overnights & fedex 2 day or express go out the next day

James Oliver says:
  Awesome

Pixie says:
anything slower will go out generally within 48 hours

Pixie says:
i would give us a call before you place your order or perhaps do it on the phone so we can make sure everything is in stock and ready to ship at the time you place your order

James Oliver says:
OK, I'll do that once I figure out exactly what we want

Pixie says:
  sounds good :)

James Oliver says:
and if I have trouble or questions once it arrives - I can come back and ask on live chat ?

Pixie says:
  yes you can

Pixie says:
  :)

James Oliver says:
Super... ok that's it for now then. Thanks again Pixie for all your help

Pixie says:
  you're welcome Ollie

Pixie says:
  have a great day :)

James Oliver says:
  you too :)
